March 15 Concert to Include Familiar Melodies

This program includes arias, duets and ensemble songs from Rossini's Barber of Seville, from Verdi's La Traviata and Rigoletto, Bizet's Carmen (Habanera & Toreador), Puccini's La Boheme. In addition to accompanying the singers on these familiar songs, the band will balance the program with instrumental pieces including Franz von Suppe's Light Cavalry Overture, Pietro Macagni's Cavalleria Rusticana, and the Can-can from Jacques Offenbach's Orpheus in the Underworld.
The Palos Verdes Symphonic Band, under the direction of David Stanton, consists of 60 local musicians dedicated to bringing the very best in concert band music to the South Bay community.
