Music From Under the Big Top on Labor Day
The Palos Verdes Symphonic Band will present Music From Under the Big Top, a tribute to the circus, on Labor Day, Monday, September 7, 2015 at 5 PM, outdoors on the meadow at the South Coast Botanic Garden, 26300 Crenshaw Boulevard in the Palos Verdes Peninsula.
The Band will perform circus favorites such as Thunder and Blazes, Technicolor Pachyderms, and Barnum and Bailey's Favorite. Also featured are Aram Khachaturian’s famous Sword Dance and Dmitri Shostakovich’s lively Festive Overture, as well as a trio of favorites by Leroy Anderson. Other well-known titles are Guys and Dolls, Malaguena, Mambo Jambo, and Funiculi, Funicula.
Tickets are only $9 each, with free admission for children 12 years of age and under, and are available at the Botanic Garden just prior to concert time. The band invites you to bring a blanket or comfortable lawn chair for seating and a picnic supper if you wish.
The Palos Verdes Symphonic Band is under the direction of David Stanton and consists of local musicians dedicated to bringing the best in concert band music to the South Bay community.
